Virtual Mentors Help New Moms across the U.S.

At One by One, our mission is to mentor and educate new moms to parent well. We provide in-person mentoring in Memphis, Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio, and a few smaller communities in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kansas. But what if you’re not in one of those locations? We launched a virtual mentoring program earlier this year to support moms across the US who don’t have in-person mentoring opportunities or who can’t meet in person due to various hardships, and we’re looking for women to serve as mentors. Does virtual mentoring appeal to you? Let’s look at how the program works.

It’s easy to serve as a virtual mentor

·       Complete the application and background check form on our website

·       Attend online or in-person training (if in-person is offered in your area)

·       Choose a friend or family member to serve as a prayer partner

Once you are assigned a mom, you

·       Call or text her weekly to check in with her

·       Meet with her monthly via any virtual platform that works for you both (Zoom, FaceTime, etc.)

·       Meet with her at least until her child turns 1 (we have an optional Year 2 program if you both would like to continue)

·       Submit a visit report online after your monthly meeting

·       Contact our virtual director with any questions or needs

How One by One helps

·       We provide you with everything you need to mentor your assigned mom: lesson plans, activity cards, and tips

·       We are here to support you and answer any questions or help with any concerns you have

·       We send your mom a quarterly “blessing box” that has all the materials she needs for your meetings plus a “happy” for her or her baby
